The eDiscovery tool in Google Vault allows administrators to search for specific content, place it on hold or export it to be presented as legal evidence.
Default and custom retention rules allow organizations to retain important business data stored in various Google Workspace services.

Services covered

Google Vault eDiscovery covers Gmail, Google Drive, Google Groups, Chat content, and does not cover apps like Contacts, Calendar, Sites.
Organizations can apply retention rule to Gmail, Google Drive, Google Groups, Chat, Sites, and Google Meet content in Google Vault.Retention rules cannot be applied to services like Calendar and Contacts.
SysCloud backup is available for Google Workspace secure Gmail, Google Drive, Contacts, Calendar, Shared Drive, and Sites data.
